Trip to Frrance (Cannes, Nice) Part 4

VISIT TO LE PANS AND CANNES - THE FRENCH RIVIERA
May 10-12, 2007

I needed to connect between Lourdes, France and Turin, Italy and one way was to take the train. Since it was possible to pass through the French Riviera, I stopped in Nice and Cannes. Ana Mae Contreras and her husband, Matias Ramirez, and I decided to meet there as Matias was attending a seminar in Le Pan, in between Nice and Cannes. Ana Mae and I would explore Cannes.

These are the photos of Le Pans. Summer was unfolding and the tourists were drawn to the beaches.

Ana Mae and I took the bus to Cannes from Le Pan, a mere 15-minute bus ride. The last time I was with Ana Mae was in London, a decade ago.

Posing in front of the Tourism office at the center of Cannes.

Posing in front of the poster for the Cannes film festival with 60 as a prominent symbol. In 2007, Cannes film festival celebrates its 60th anniversary.

Posing in front of the main venue of the film festival. Note the expanded poster hang above the entrance of the venue of this film theatre.

The beaches of Cannes where many a starlet have posed through the past film festivals.

Ana Mae refused to play such a role even if she looks like Dawn Zulueta.

The hot beaches of Cannes. Poor palm tree... could not survive the heat that comes from all kinds of sources.

A tent that was set up as a one of the venues for the film showings of Cannes film festival.

The street is deserted at mid-day, but a week later this same street was packed with cinema lovers.
